Shea Butter Making

An afternoon of self-care and connection

On Wednesday 14th January, women in recovery came together for a nourishing self-care experience focused on shea butter making. Held in a warm, supportive space by our volunteer Jen, the session offered a chance to slow down, connect, and engage in a gentle, hands-on activity that encouraged creativity and wellbeing. Participants learned about the benefits of natural ingredients while making their own shea butter, taking time to care for themselves and each other. The afternoon fostered relaxation, conversation, and confidence, reinforcing the importance of self-care as a meaningful part of recovery. Using essential oil of all fragrances and Aloe gel we created some glorious smelling creams for all the women to take home and use. It was a lovely and simple activity that got everyone together to chat, make new friends and reunite with old ones.
